Teaching architecture in the classroom is a perfect avenue for real world problem solving with place based education. Building is a natural pastime for our students. In using the building process, we incorporate socio-emotional learning, various national standards, creativity, critical thinking, and our local community to examine sustainable structures in the real world. We’ll share our St. Louis scavenger hunt, light up skyscrapers, field trip ideas, community partnerships, and hands-on lessons. Join us for proven strategies and rigorous projects to integrate more than just building walls and roofs into your classroom. Are you ready to go beyond the 3 Little Pigs to access structural engineering, Frank Gehry, loads, forces, and more?
